Meanwhile, the Calhoun Lady Warhawks basketball team is making their third consecutive tournament appearance, proving their continued dominance on the court.
The tournament, which features the top six teams in the conference, will be held March 6-8 at Spragins Hall on the University of Alabama in Huntsville campus. The Lady Warhawks will take on Coastal Alabama – South on Thursday, March 6, at 12:00 PM, followed by the men's team facing Bishop State from Mobile at 6:00 PM.

The men's team finished the year with a mark of 17-12 overall, and a 6-8 record in ACCC play. The women's team also posted a 17-12 record for the season, and finished at 8-6 in league play.
"For a program that was revived just three seasons ago after a 21-year hiatus, both teams making it to the tournament is a testament to the dedication, talent, and hard work of Calhoun's student-athletes and coaching staff. This is a groundbreaking moment for our student-athletes," commented AJ Daugherty, Calhoun's athletics director. "For our men's team to make it to the ACCC Tournament for the first time since returning, and for our women's team to continue proving they belong at this level, is incredible. These teams are showing that Calhoun is a force to be reckoned with, and I couldn't be prouder," Daugherty added.
Kassie Mathis, Calhoun's Vice President of Student Services, echoed the excitement, emphasizing the broader significance of these achievements. "This isn't just about wins and losses; it's also about perseverance, determination, and the bright future of Calhoun athletics," said Mathis. "Our student-athletes are proving what's possible when talent meets opportunity, and the energy around this program is stronger than ever," she added.
