Warhawks eSports Reaches Overwatch Quarterfinals; Spring Season Starts in February
Calhoun looks to build off a strong fall eSports season that saw it's Overwatch team reach the national quarterfinals.
The Calhoun Community College eSports team, now in its fourth season as a sanctioned sport, looks to build on a strong fall season that included a winning record, national rankings, and a trip to the national tournament in one game.
The Warhawk eSports squad finished the fall regular season with a 9-6 record, led by the group's performance in Overwatch. The Overwatch team achieved an impressive 4th-place ranking overall in the NJCAAE Contender Series. That strong effort led to a berth in the national quarterfinals of the fall playoffs, where the Warhawks wer defeated by Dutchess Community College.
The spring season for the 2024-25 eSports year will pick back up in February, with Calhoun's first matches scheduled for February 26th.
"As we gear up for the spring season starting on February 26th, our team has been training hard to make an even greater impact," Calhoun eSports Head Coach Dalton Counter said.
The Calhoun eSports team is a co-ed roster, featuring eight student athletes, and are led by Head Coach Dalton Counter, now in his second season in charge of the program.
