Harper Quick Finishes Among Top Golfers at NJCAA Women's Golf Championships
Lady Warhawk sophomore places among the Top-32 golfers in the country
Calhoun Community College sophomore golfer Harper Quick wrapped up a strong campaign by finishing among the Top-32 golfers at the recently completed NJCAA Division 2 Women's Golf Championships, the inuagural event for Division 2 women's golf, held at Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone, Iowa.
Harper received an at-large individual selection to participate in the national tournament, following a standout season in which she was named to the NJCAA All-District Team and earned a 4.0 GPA for the spring semester, which is an achievement that highlights her excellence both on the course and in the classroom.
Quick improved each of the first three days at the event, opening with a round of 86, followed by another 86 in the second rouond. She improved to an 84 in her third round, putting her in 29th place out of 84 golfers at the tournament, before wrapping up the four-round event with a score of 88 in the final round, putting her in 32nd to finish the year.
Quick is a native of Hazel Green, Alabama.
"Harper is a tremendous student-athlete and a fierce competitor," said Richard Morgan, Calhoun's Women's Golf Coach. "To see her compete at this level on a national stage is incredibly rewarding. She's earned every bit of this."
